The five marquise diamonds catch light like little sunbeams, and they frame my solitaire without competing with it. I've worn it stacked with a chunky band too and it still looks intentional.

I stacked this above my plain solitaire and the five marquise stones fan out like actual little sunbeams. It sits flush against the band too, no weird gap. Honestly wasn't sure about the topper idea until I saw it on my hand.

I stacked this on top of my plain gold band and it instantly made the whole set look intentional. The five marquise stones sit low enough that they don't snag on sweaters, which was my main worry.
